Beth's tattoo too

Here's the one Beth got. It went well with her dress and peg leg.

This picture was taken just as I was starting a race. (She was my starting block.)

P.S. A lot of you have been asking where Beth got that dress. She got it at Disneyland in the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop. If she could, she would buy all of her clothes there.

Also from Java's Birthday

They had a face painter and a temporary tattooer.
I went with a spider.
But I think I must've been allergic because my foot swelled up pretty big.

I actually fooled Emilie for a second with it. Shook my foot like I had a bug on it.

You learn something new everyday

And a week ago at Java Holloway's first birthday I learned a new and more awesome way to eat a cupcake. I learned it from Don our prop guy, who learned it from Joyce our 2nd AD.
So here it is:
You start with the cup cake.
First you peel away the paper. (Trust me it gets better.)
Then tear off the bottom portion of the cupcake.
Place the torn-off portion on top where the frosting is.
Give it a little squeeze.
And there you have it. Eat it like a cream-filled cake sandwich.

Well now that you all have this knowledge, I hope you'll be able to find a kid's birthday party to go to.

About the Cornrows...

A while ago I posted this and told you I'd tell you about it later.

Well it's later.

You can see what the cornrows were for in the current issue of Complex Magazine.
Here's a link to the article online:

Boy do I feel dumb

When we were in Maui we stopped in on this "Doggy Boutique" type of store and I found this this t-shirt:
I thought "Wow! That was fast!" Later I learned it's a different Jacob.

Please no more shower caps!

I don't bake THAT much.

My next post about Maui was going to be this:
Me "stealing" the complimentary cap from the B&B we stayed at.

But I already have way more caps than I need and I have a feeling more are still on their way.

Maui: Surfing Goat Dairy

Last weekend we escaped to Maui for a couple of days.
One of the places we visited was the Surfing Goat Dairy.
As you would expect they had goats.
And lots of them .
If you take the tour you can even feed them. We didn't take the tour.
But we did see a lot of kids.
No children just kids. (As in baby goats.)
This guy kept pushing his head into my hand. I think he missed his mommy's milk.
Then I thought he wanted to lick my leg.
But as it turned out he was only interested in my pants.

My Favorite Song This Minute

Badly Drawn Boy "The Time Of Times"
Sorry I haven't been able to post as often lately.
But I was listening to this tune on a mix CD I made for Terry yesterday and I just kept restarting it over and over.

"Rat Dropping" bread

The dough that so many of you said looked like the rats got into it, was actually a fennel raisin almond dough.
It was my most labor intensive ( I had to candy and juice the fennel) but I really loved the flavor.

Hands down my greatest toast. And check out the green color it has from the fennel juice.
